What is
Ello?
Ello is a
beautiful, small, ad free private social network. Ello is a new social network
that has inflame with a declaration telling users that "we believe a
social network can be a device for assent. Not a device to misguide pressure
and control however a spot to add, make and cheer life. You are not a
product." It is called as an anti- Facebook social network. Seven
programmers and artists are created it. Main founder and CEO of Ello is Paul
Budnitz.
10 important
things about Ello
1. Invite only
Though Ello is totally free of cost to use, it works
individually on the premise on an invite only policy. You need to ask for you
welcome by giving your email id on the Ello authority site's home page then
again on the off chance that you know somebody who is now on Ello, you can get
a welcome. Every new user is designated 25 invites.
2. Manifesto
Ello asserts that the current social networking we
are using is claimed by advertisers. All that we do, add someone as a friend,
share something on news feed and like is followed and afterward the information
is sold to the advertisers. We are surely the product that is sold and
purchased in return for information. Be that as it may Ello is diverse, they
treat us like people, not product and Ello is a stage to connect and celebrate.
They will not misguide or administrate us like the rest of them.
3. Ad Free
Unlike other social networking sites Ello
is virtually ad free. Ello steer clear-cut of promoting the data to third party
and advertisers. Ad free and no data-mining policy is the basic rule of Ello.
4. Easy to use
The website is designed as very user friendly. The
design is very smart and clean, there is not a sign of mixture with minimum
options. It is very good thing for starting. If they come up with extra features
later, for now the system and design is beautiful.
5. Free to use
Ello is totally free to use. Only a few exceptional
features which if you want to be featured in your account forever, they will
have to pay a small amount. Other this social networking site is absolutely
free of cost.
6. Public network
Ello is a public network for general public to share
public content. Now Ello works on invite basis. Anyone whose age is above 13 can
use Ello.
7. News feed
The newsfeed is separated into two sections namely
Friends and Noise. When you open a friends tab you will see all the news from
people who are listed in your friends section. Noise is the news feed
from the rest of the people.
8. Features
Ello offers many cool features; some of them are fluid
grid noise view, commenting, image compressor, views per post, Google Analytics
etc.
9. Apps
The design of Ello is very neat so its mobile app also
will be user friendly. They say that it will work for both iOS and android
apps.
10. Privacy
Ello is said to be a public network. What you post other than
private message can be entranced by other. There is no such thing as privacy in
Ello. But they declare that they are working on the privacy and blocking
system.
In My
Opinion 5 reasons, why Ello will not a replacement of Facebook
Lack of privacy
Ello has no privacy settings. All profiles are public.
But if you’re looking to Facebook there are many confusing privacy settings. Ello
is not conscious of privacy. Anybody can find you. Block is an important feature
if you’re seeking to a safe space but you cannot block other users. Even
Twitter, which is not entirely known for helping users apportion with
irritation, permits blocking.
The design
There's not a considerable measure going on when you
take a look at Ello, however I can't choose if its black and white minimalism
is purposeful or simply a placeholder for a completely fledged site. Finding
friends is impossible: The site's find tool simply takes you to a list of Ello
users the system thinks you ought to include. I've been gradually friending
people I know by interrogating them what their Ello names are. That is not good
for development. The primary feed, which is differentiated by
"friends" and "noise" (people you don't know), likewise
appears to be overly simple, however Ello's upcoming feature list promises a
"repost with attribution" tool. That seems like Tumblr territory.
The apps
A social network without an application in our
smartphone centric world we can’t expect, but Ello has not done it. Why? I am
not sure .Ello says it’s working on iOS and Android apps, but at this point,
apps shouldn’t be a bit of hindsight they should launch with or before a
website.
The money
Facebook
was ad-free some years. The founder of Tumblr’s hated the idea of ads. But
today or tomorrow, every free network needs advertising. How would you make
money? Ello has an indeterminate plan to offer premium features that are worth
paying for, and probably that cash will be sufficient to maintain the site.
Investors will need a return. By what method will Ello profit without selling
your information? That part, seemingly the establishment of the whole system,
is still fluffy. Brands have officially joined Ello, with Netflix encouraging
its Ello followers to like the company on Facebook, in this way missing the
whole point.The hook
A lot of sites need advertisements. Numerous systems let you utilize pseudonyms of genuine names. So how is Ello different from others? Facebook has your whole life. Twitter is your news source. Tumblr is your inventive outlet. Instagram is your photograph studio. Pinterest is your rousing scrapbook. Each has something that separates it from the rest. I'm interested what Ello will do to make itself a vital piece of your day. But still, I'm not seeing it.
Since Ello is new, it is welcome to our social networking sites. We are interested to see what new we get from it.
